Dr. George Batsche will share the principles of Response to Intervention (RtI) via a multi-step approach of providing services through increasing levels of intensity to students struggling to learn.

Batsche outlines an approach that is consistent with school reform efforts. His emphasis on a rich universal curriculum is complemented by a focus on:

• Targeted instruction and interventions for at-risk learners
• Significant improvements in pro-social behaviors
• Reduction in over-representation of diverse student groups in low academic performance, special education, suspension/expulsion, and alternative education.
• Overall improvement in achievement rates
• Maximize efficiency and return on investment
• Achieving AYP
