Who:  CESA 5 Administrators (principals, curriculum coordinators, technology coordinators, special education directors, district administrators); other educational staff may attend on a space- available basis

Please bring a portable computer with wireless Internet capability.

Participants in this two-day hands-on course will examine the new online environment made possible through the effective use of Google Tools. This course will focus on many free applications from Google that support teaching, learning, and administrative tasks. Some of the Google applications that will be discussed are Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and Presentations, Google Calendar, Google Advanced and Specialized Search, Google Customized Search, Google Maps, Google Books, Picasa, and Blogger.

Participants will discuss best practice examples and methodologies for assessing the impact of these tools on instruction. They will also identify and discuss ways that Google Tools can be effectively used in classrooms. Participants signing up for Viterbo credit will also develop a plan for using Google tools in their work or for a special project.

Viterbo Credit: One graduate credit from Viterbo University will be available for $90. Enrollment forms and payment (check or credit card) will be collected on July 13th.

Administrator Standards
WAS1The administrator has an understanding of and demonstrates competence in the teacher standards under s. PI 34.02.

WAS3The administrator manages by advocating, nurturing and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to pupil learning and staff professional growth.
WAS4The administrator ensures management of the organization, operations, finances, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
