Participants will gain understanding of the educational philosophy that supports the classroom walk-through process. In addition, opportunities, with technical support, will be provided to create school-level or district-level walk-through forms and reports.
Participants should be committed to the Classroom Walk-Through process. This will be a hands-on workshop to build the tools necessary for the implementation of the process. Also, have in mind the type of data that needs to be collected in your school. Knowing ahead of time what questions need to be asked and what teaching techniques need to be observed will save you time during the workshop and result in much more being accomplished.
Workshop goals:
1. Review purpose and foundational underpinnings of classroom walk through observation data. (This will be a short review of the CWT process and is not intended to be comprehensive training of the CWT process.)
2. Review the process through collaborative discussions on data collected from a CWT.
3. The development of classroom walk-through documents and spreadsheets
4. Create individualized (district or school) classroom walk-through documents
5. Test, evaluate, and improve the classroom walk-through process and technical tools
6. Demonstration of how the information gathered can be formatted into useful resources to monitor progress associated with school goals
**It is required that each participant has a Google account in place prior to the workshop. The account does not have to be a school-domain account but you will be building the CWT tools on Google. If you have questions about opening an account, contact Douglas Shanks at shanksd@cesa5.org**
Cost: $200.00
$100.00 for members of the High School Reform Committee (HSRC) and members of the Center for School Improvement Elementary Principals PLC
