Mentoring is an ideal way to ease transition from elementary to middle school or middle to high school. A student trained as a mentor will be a wonderful asset to your Peer Helper Program and/or your Student Assistance Program.
Target Audience: Upper Elementary, and/or Middle School Students (Grades 4-8)
Enrollment Limit: 80 **A minimum of 20 participants is necessary to hold this workshop**

Fee: * No fee if part of the SOH Prof. Dev. Pkg (Bangor, Sparta, Tomah, Westby)
$25 Student/Adult in ATOD Network (Alma, ACHM, Arcadia, Cashton, C-FC, De Soto, Independence, N-O-W, Whitehall)

Facilitator: Mike McGowan, President of McGowan and Associates, which is a training and consultation firm specializing in alcohol, drug, family, and conflict resolution issues. He has spent several years working with schools, parent groups, and students as a trainer, consultant, and motivational speaker.
Mike McGowan will give your students the skills in listening, communicating, and knowing the resources avaiable to help others. He will explain how to set up a mentoring program in your school. Think about the success of Big Brothers and Big Sisters…your school could have it to!
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
