This workshop will focus on early childhood math instruction. We will examine the correlation between the WI Model Early Learning Standards and the Common Core State Standards for Kindergarten. We will closely unpack the Kindergarten standards to have a clear understanding of how we can prepare our early childhood students for success in Kindergarten mathematics.
This workshop will also develop understanding of the Common Core Math Practice Standards which outline how students should learn mathematics
and what it means to be mathematically proficient. You will gain a better understanding of what “number sense” really means and how it is
developed in young children. Having “number sense” is key to success in mathematics. Participants will experience math tasks that can be used
with children for instruction and for intervention. Participants will also gain a better understanding of the learning trajectories for Counting/Cardinality/
Number and Operations that will help you plan instruction and intervention.

Unless otherwise noted, if we receive your cancellation at least 48 hours before the program begins, you will qualify for a full refund. If you do not show up or cancel prior to the 48 hour time frame, you are subject to a $25.00 late cancellation fee.
