What is an RLC?

A Regional Learning Community is space (virtual or in-person) for you to come together with your team and other schools who are working on implementing comprehensive school mental health to share and learn from one another. The format will be a blend of formal content along with time to process, share, and ask questions.

Connecting Students to    Services: Student Support Teams, Teaming Processes and ReferralPathways

Krystal Bacha, Pupil Services
Director, Stanley-Boyd School District

Join us for a bird’s eye view into what a complete mental health referral
system might look like including:
• Aligning tier 1 services and supports
• Identifying students who require additional support
• Establishing clear teaming processes and procedures for moving
students through the levels/tiers
• Using data to design student support plans that meet the unique
needs of your learners
We are excited once again to have Krista Bacha share the inner workings of
her district’s system. Krista comes with a wealth of first-hand experience and
generously shares tools and templates to help others breathe life into this
complex work.

SEL/Mental Health EdCamp

*topics and facilitators TBD
based on YOUR input

Your district or school adopted a curriculum resource to support social and
emotional learning. Or maybe you’ve added a strategy to enhance your
curriculum resource like Restorative Practices, Conscious Discipline or Ross
Greene’s work. Maybe you want to learn more about SEL/MH interventions
others are using. Use the time in an EdCamp format to celebrate your
progress, inform your next steps, or consider what was missed in the
journey. A facilitator will join each focus group to guide the conversations and
learning. Join us for sessions by and for educators, where anyone can share
and inquire, and the focus is on collaboration, connections, and group
expertise.

Jenny engages participants in active learning, so come ready to share and learn together!

Screening

Jen Parsons, Wellness Screening Program Director, Samaritan Counseling Center of the Fox Valley
Universal screening provides valuable data for students’ social emotional learning and mental health needs rather than second guessing, providing supports to the wrong group, or missing a student who could benefit from early intervention. Jen Parsons will share tools and provide guidance to any system considering starting, expanding, or making changes to a screening program

Initiative Alignment

Kelly Thiel, Special Education Director/504 Coordinator, School District of Shiocton

Rachel Polacek, School Psychologist, School District of North Fond du Lac

Carrie Nitz, Mental Health Navigator, School District of North Fond du Lac

Mike Gonzalez, Middle School Principal, North Fond du Lac

April brings more than spring flowers - it provides time to think about the initiatives already in place and the ones you’re considering for next year. Are they aligned or not? Learn from colleagues who spent time aligning their work to cultivate a system where “initiatives” become embedded into how we work. Listen for the “pearls and pitfalls” that are part of every implementation journey.
