Session 1: MIP process and MIP for Identification and Misidentification Processes.

Description: To MIP or Not to MIP: Using the Multiple Indicator Protocol for EL Identification and Reclassification
In Wisconsin, the Multiple Indicator Protocol (MIP) may be used to support the identification or reclassification of students as English Learners (ELs) or Former ELs in specific circumstances such as when an English Learner student reaches an overall composite score of 4.5-4.9 or upon enrollment. Participants will learn the ins and outs of the MIP process and the research that supports it. Through the use of case studies and hands-on activities, participants understand how to evaluate student work across the language domains of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

This is session one of a two-part series, with Session 2 covering MIP process and MIP for reclassification. Registration is available here and is a separate fee.

Cost: $90 for Session 1
