Can practices be standards-based, evidence-based, data-driven, AND developmentally appropriate in your 4K classroom? At the end of the day, you will respond “YES!” In this workshop, participants will explore ways to effectively use Teaching Strategies GOLD data to guide their teaching and monitor child progress; and to plan curriculum activities and experiences that intentionally reflect WI Model Early Learning Standards. Participants will also consider the project approach as a way to support all aspects of child development and learning - especially language, early literacy and writing – that engages ALL children in purposeful, hands-on learning!

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants will be exposed to a real world early literacy environment.
  2. Participants will understand the necessity of implementing standards based literacy instruction.
  3. Participants will recognize the value of assessments to make instructional decisions.
