Do you want to hear more about the SMART Inclusion model in Canada presented by Alex Dunn in April?

This two day follow-up session continues the dialog and examples of the successful model using SMART Boards and technology in conjunction with traditional "Special Education" software (Boardmaker Plus, IntelliTools Classroom Suite, etc.) for students with significant special needs
included in general education classrooms. This 2 day session will include both theory and hands-on practice using the SMART Board with Special Education software.

Alex Dunn, Upper Canada District School Board, and Tania Mason, Learning Resource Coach at Glen Tay Primary School, will share:

  • How they use The Participation Model successfully to draw in regular education teachers
  • Implementation strategies for students who need visual supports, physical access, cognitive scaffolding, language support (including participation using AAC devices)
  • Adapting and modifying  SMART activities to meet the needs of all
  • Adapting specialized programs and websites to meet the needs of general and special students in the classroom
  • Hands-on activities using software and SMART Boards
  • Help in developing your own implementation plan for a Wisconsin SMART Inclusion!
