In this one-day workshop GT coordinators will accompany their K-8 aged gifted and talented students to test web resources that have been collected as supplemental gifted and talented curriculum and learning resources. Teachers will learn how to support their students in identifying activities that engage and encourage advanced learning.

Students will expand their ability to extend their own learning through the use of online resources, and develop and practice leadership skills. Students will improve their ability to apply digital tools to gather, evaluate and use information, aligned to the National Education Technology Standard 3. A follow-up in district activity includes student delivery of a demonstration of one online resource for a teachers in their district

Student Outcomes: Instructional Strategies: Students with gifts and talents become independent investigators. Social Competence: Students with gifts and talents develop social competence manifested in positive peer relationships and social interactions.
Leadership: Students with gifts and talents demonstrate personal and social responsibility and leadership skills.

A Gifted and Talented Grant has provided funding for this training.

This workshop is for Grant Consortium Districts only (Ashland, Bayfield, Butternut, Chequamegon, Drummond, Maple, Mellen, Mercer, Northwood, Phillips, Solon Springs, South Shore, Superior, and Washburn).

*Grant Participants will be reimbursed for mileage and substitutes for this event.

Students are asked to bring laptop computers or Chromebooks with wireless Internet access.

Please download a copy of the media permission slilp for all students who plan to attend.

Teachers must register on line for this training and write in the notes section the names of the students they will be bringing.  Registration is limited to 40 students per session (registration is on a first come basis and must be on MyQuickReg to qualify).

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:

If a workshop has been canceled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all your contact information is correct on myQuickReg.com
