This is our annual event to welcome new teachers, connect with those we know and get excited about the upcoming year. This year we will do some 'technical stuff' and then learn about motivating students to become better readers with Brian Wilhorn as our presenter. Brian currently works in a Wisconsin school as an interventionist. He deals with some of the same struggles that you see within your Title I programs. Here is a little information about his presentation...

Once students can read, how can teachers foster a love of reading? Starting with books students love, Brian Wilhorn shares numerous strategies to engage and empower student readers, including ways to connect with individuals, classrooms, and whole schools. Learn the impact teachers have on students when they are readers themselves, and see how books can be incorporated into the curriculum throughout the instructional day.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Participants will learn about new updates concerning Title I.
2. Participants will learn about the importance of students viewing their teachers as readers.
3. Participants will discover ways to incorporate books throughout the school day.

Join us for this information filled day. We look forward to seeing you and learning together.
