 CESA 8 will host a 2014-2015 ESEA Application writing workshop at CESA 8 from 8:30 am-3:00 pm on August 6th. Districts are encouraged to bring a team (Business Managers/Fiscal Agents, Title I Coordinators/Teachers, ESEA Coordinators or Principals) to work together to complete the application process. Shelly Babler, our DPI Title Consultant, will be available for consult and assistance. Please save this date on your calendar.

ESEA writing workshop – Use the time to work as a district team (program and fiscal staff) to decide how 2014-15 ESEA funds will be used to meet the needs identified in the district’s needs assessment. CESA and DPI staff will be available to answer questions and provide support.

Tentative Agenda
8:30 am – Noon ESEA Planning Time
Review planning documents (CESA Staff) – 30 minutes
Work in district teams to discuss how to spend the funds for Titles I, II, and III

Noon to 1 pm Lunch on your own

1:00 – 3:00 pm Enter data and the application

Please upload the district’s forms to the ESEA application before August 6th. The forms need to be approved by DPI before the district can submit any grant application


What districts need to bring
Results from your district’s needs assessment
Allocation amounts are available on this website http://esea.dpi.wi.gov/
License numbers for teachers not in the current application, but will be charged to the grants
Enrollment data by school attendance area for all schools (for both public and private) – for Title I purposes
Total Enrollment and Low Income Enrollment
If you are aware of any of your students who attend private schools located in other districts and those private schools are participating in their home district’s Title I services
make sure to include those students in your district’s enrollment counts.
Total enrollment data for each private school participating in Title II services (Total students in each private school regardless of where they live)

Before the workshop, be sure to
Know who your ESEA Application Administrator for the district is and work with that person to make sure all user have their own user IDs and passwords
Upload the district’s assurance form to the ESEA application
Upload the district’s debarment form to the ESEA application
Complete the annual consultation meeting with private schools to determine participation.
Upload the district’s private school affirmation forms to the ESEA application
Upload Title III’s Consortium Verification form (if applicable)

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all of your contact information is correct in myQuickReg.com. DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS: Due to varied dietary restrictions, CESA 8 cannot guarantee that all special dietary accommodations can be met. CESA 8 makes every effort to accommodate basic dietary restrictions with advance notice, but please plan accordingly.
