Finding and/or utilizing appropriate counseling curriculum that meets the benchmarks in the new Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model (WCSCM) is not an easy task. This workshop is designed mainly for counselors and curriculum coordinators. It provides participants with strategies to assess their current school counseling curriculums, examine additional resources, identify related cross-discipline curriculum delivery, and how to align them with WCSCM benchmarks. It will also provide school counselors the opportunity to begin addressing academic and career readiness through the development of Individual Learning Plans.
Objectives:
- Identify federally approved and Non-approved resources for counseling and educational situations
- Establishing local benchmarks based on the WCSCM
- Analyze counseling and development resources for appropriateness
- Match local counseling curriculum to WCSCM benchmarks
- Develop an Individual Learning Plan for students [WI Stat 115.28(59)]
