Nationally acclaimed math educator Cathy Fosnot presents:

"Models of Intervention: Reweaving the Tapestry for Elementary Mathematics"
Adaptive math intervention strategies (grades 2-5) for elementary teachers, interventionists and special education teachers

This special one-day training is brought to all CESA #2 school districts at a reduced price through a sponsorship by CESA Purchasing and DreamBox.

The primary focus of this workshop will be on the operations of subtraction and multiplication with emphasis placed on two specific issues:
1) What does a high quality math intervention program look like for students, more specifically how can a blended learning approach help and how can special education teachers and interventionists best work with a regular classroom teacher to implement a quality intervention program?
2) How can teachers better bring the CCSS Standards of Practice into their elementary teaching in a systematic way when their current materials and personal mathematics understanding don't necessarily support this type of work?

Using digital video of exemplary classrooms throughout the day we will engage in:  Kidwatching; Examining teacher decision-making during conferrals; Analysis of children’s work; Planning a congress; Crafting mini-lessons and Examining the role of digital technology.

Cost:
$50 - CESA #2 School Districts -includes light breakfast, lunch, DreamBox lunch presentation and Cathy Fosnot training
$75 - All other educational participants - includes light breakfast, DreamBox lunch presentation and Cathy Fosnot training

Registration Deadline: April 23 or until workshop is full.
