This is a two-day event:
Day 1: February 25
Day 2: April 30

Location: Oregon School District Office
123 East Grove Street, Oregon 53575

Both days will focus on the basic principles of Writing Workshop with live classroom visits to observe the Writing Workshop in action!  Participants will be expected to take the framework, practice in their classrooms and come back with stories and questions.

In the Common Core State Standards, writing is treated as an equal partner to reading, and more than this, writing is assumed to be the vehicle through which a great deal of the critical thinking and reading work occur.  This workshop will provide teachers and literacy leaders with the foundation and support necessary to teach opinion, information, and narrative writing with increasing complexity and sophistication through the Writing Workshop framework. Workshop is led by Lucy Calkins’ trained facilitators. Spots are limited so register now!
