Science teachers in West Central Wisconsin have been utilizing the power of collaborative learning by meeting regularly for the last several years. February 5th is a day ALL science teachers in the region are invited to share in a science teachers exchange of what is working. It doesn’t matter what district or CESA you are from, if you teach science you are welcome.

Experience the power of sharing with other colleagues. Bring labs, lessons or assessments to share! Items may be exemplar or those desiring input. Bring items via electronic means, hardcopy, and video. You may also bring data and actual student work for discussion. The group breaks up into science disciplines for high quality collaboration.

Hot topics amongst science educators currently include: using student data, SLOs, time management, course content, effective science labs, lessons, and assessments, field trips, curriculum and the NGSS standards. WiShare is also good for sharing useful resources, grants available, valuable workshops, student competitions/camps and other current happenings.

Dr. Doug Dunham will briefly be sharing equipment & resources that are available to you through UWEC free as part of a MSC grant. A ‘discussion protocol’ will be introduced by CESA 10, the host of this meeting, and a brief update of NGSS in WI will be given, but the day is about professional learning amongst practitioners.

Bring a few dollars for lunch-a receipt will be available. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
