This book study will utilize the book entitled "The Next Steps In Guided Reading" by Jan Richardson. This book will take a step by step look at teaching guided reading across various grades. It will include looking at reading assessments, how to prompt students having difficulties, the teaching of specific strategies within a reading level, and address how writing can accelerate the reading process. Distance learning will be utilized at your school district. The dates for this class are Jan. 7, 16, 21, 28, and Feb. 4, 2014. We will be meeting from 4pm to 6pm. Jan Richardson is a motivational and engaging author and speaker. She will be presenting at CESA 10 on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2014 in follow up to this book study. This is an awesome opportunity to enrich your teaching of Guided Reading and to collaborate with other elementary teachers.
