Working in a BYOT district, or in a mixed environment of Androids, iPads, Mac, PC, Chromebooks or…?

Do you want to understand how to create and deliver content that works on a variety of devices while also meeting the needs of students with reading, language, or physical challenges?

It can be done! During this workshop Dan Herlihy will provide examples and allow you to create your own content and provide access to these materials across various platforms. Do you need to include accessibility for specific students? No problem, Dan has you covered!  He will also share examples of how Google Drive can support these efforts.

Bring your own laptop and one mobile device to*:
  • Gain  hands-on experience creating an  eBook using a variety of apps and then move it to another device using ‘the cloud’
  • Add text to speech,  visual supports and/or Switch access
  • Use writing supports
  • Learn which apps/programs play well across platforms/devices
  • Install and work with browser add-ons that provide additional accessibility and support
*BYOT - Please have admin rights to install browser add-ons and apps, and to access the internet on all your devices. We will be using Chrome in addition to your current browser; please have Chrome installed on your laptop before the workshop. Check with your district tech support to have this ready to go.
Your iPad should have a minimum of iOS6 installed for best results; your Android should be as current as possible.
*Please access the list of apps to pre-install before the workshop (located above in Attachments).
