Day 2 WSPEI District Liaison Training –

WSPEI’s Day 2 of trainings will cover the following topics:

IEP Process & Product – Review the referral process, timelines, evaluation, and determination of

disability and services. Learn about the components of an IEP, the who, what, why, and how of IEP’s. 

Parent involvement and parent rights are covered as well.

Transition Planning for Students and Families – Review effective transition requirements and best

practices in transition planning, learn about self-determination, and become aware of transition resources

and websites.  The importance of family engagement in post-secondary planning will be stressed. 

 IEP’s are covered in the first half of the training; Transition the second half of the day.
