Have you ever wondered why the symbol for autism is a puzzle piece?  The neurology of autism presents many challenges in relation to relationships, instruction, transitions, social communication, and adaptive skills to name a few.  This Introduction to Autism is very important in helping us remember to look through the lens of the autism spectrum when interpreting the functions of behavior (e.g., what their behavior is trying to communicate, and interpreting behavior in its context), which will then lead into the next presentations about the appropriate use of the evidenced based practices of Prompting and Reinforcement are necessary in helping children with the neurology of autism to learn develop skills (also including pro-social and performance based) as well as to function independently.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs.
