“Eau Claire Children's Museum:  Its All About Playing Through Literacy

Description:  A night at the Museum will highlight how to use story books to engage students in dramatic play. Come play for the night, bring back ideas to implement in your own programs, and consider a future fieldtrip to the local museum.

 

Through a collaborative effort, we are offering a variety of presentations during the 2013-14 school year. The target audience for this series is all Early Childhood Professionals including Child Care, 4K, Kindergarten, ECSE, Head Start, primary teachers and paraprofessionals, Birth-to-3 providers, in-home child care providers (0-8). Each session will address infant, toddler, preschool and kindergarten needs. You are welcome to attend all sessions or a few sessions.

Schedule:
The agenda for each session is as follows, unless noted otherwise:
5:30 - 6:00 pm Light supper / Time for networking
6:00 - 8:00 pm Presentation

Fees:  There is a fee charged per session to offset meal and copy costs. Fees are as follows:  $10.00 per session

Location:  Most of the sessions will be held at the CESA 10 Conference Center (725 West Park Avenue, Chippewa Falls).

Continuing Education:  This series will be offered for a Tier 1 registry credit.  University credit for grad or undergrad will be offered through UW-Eau Claire.  Amy Carriere will be the Instructor of Record for the course. Handouts/PowerPoints: Handouts and PowerPoints will be posted one week before each session for participants to print if they want. Handouts that will be provided each session will be noted. The site for online resources for Q-Net is http://www.cesa10.k12.wi.us/qnet.
 

It is important that you register. We will need this information to plan for food and handouts.
