Judy Menard, CESA 8 Literacy Specialist - Judy was trained as a Literacy Coach by Linda Dorn and also received training directly from Fountas & Pinnell in
using the LLI resources.

For teachers who teach students reading at the K-2 grade reading level (Fountas and Pinnell text levels A-M) & teachers currently using LLI Orange, Green or Blue as an intervention tool

LLI is a small group intervention for students in kindergarten, first or second grade who are struggling to learn to read and write.
The workshop series will help the participants assess, interpret and make placement decisions based on benchmark assessments, as well as
organize and manage the LLI materials. Course instruction will include the LLI lesson framework, using the prompting guide as a
teaching/acceleration tool, using known words to solve in reading and writing, and the use of writing to extend comprehension and word
learning. Teacher proficiency will be the focus of this workshop series.

Requirements: Prompting Guide I (included in LLI system) if available Continuum of Learning (Fountas and Pinnell, 2009) if available
Participants do not need to have purchased either kit prior to attending; samplers will be used to examine the framework.
