For teachers who teach students reading at the third-sixth grade reading level (Fountas and Pinnell text levels N-S) &
teachers currently using LLI Red or Gold as an intervention tool

$300.00 per participant

Judy Menard, CESA 8 Literacy Specialist - Judy was trained as a Literacy Coach by Linda Dorn and also received training directly from Fountas & Pinnell in
using the LLI resources.

 LLI Red and Gold are small group interventions for children in Grades 3 and 4, (or upper level students reading significantly below grade level) who find reading and writing difficult to learn. Teacher proficiency will be the focus of this workshop series.
 

Leveled literacy Intervention Features:

  • Fast-paced (45 minute) lessons, that include explicit instruction in structural analysis, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
  • Daily lesson guides with prescribed sequences of texts.
  • Instructional interactions between teachers and students with a student-teacher ratio up to 4:l.
  • Emphasis on comprehension of fiction and non-fiction texts with time engaged in reading continuous texts.
  • Continuum of student understandings to guide the series of lessons.

Requirements: Prompting Guide I (included in LLI system) if available Continuum of Learning (Fountas and Pinnell, 2009) if available
Participants do not need to have purchased either kit prior to attending; samplers will be used to examine the framework.
 

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs.
