This THREE-DAY, TEAM-BASED workshop provides literacy leadership teams the capacity to improve systemic universal reading instruction within their Response to Intervention Framework.
Teams should include a principal, general & special education teachers. In addition, Title I, reading specialists and curriculum directors are encouraged to attend.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand the need for a strong systemic foundation built upon organizational trust and common beliefs on reading instruction around the Common Core State Standards.
  2. Build school level team capacity around comprehensive literacy instruction for ALL students at the school and classroom level.
  3. Review and outline core reading components from the Common Core State Standards; phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and text complexity.
  4. Review and outline instructional time, instructional grouping, and universal classroom environment.
  5. Review and outline instructional time, instructional grouping, and universal classroom environment.
  6. Investigate and discuss high quality systemic universal reading instruction as it relates to the WI-RtI framework.

COST:
$150.00/person. Includes: three days of training & materials, a light breakfast, lunch, & a snack each day. Texts will be provided.
 

 

Teacher Standards
