The CCSSM require new ways of setting goals for students, designing activities and assessing understanding. In this K-5 workshop we will explore facets of Common Core based mathematics instruction with a goal of designing and understanding high quality math SLOs. We will discuss how to build goals from the CCSSM content and practices and discuss how they would look on an SLO or a standards-based report card. We will review standard math lessons and enhance them to better address the standards for mathematical practice. Finally, we’ll collaboratively build assessments that require deeper thinking and student performance like those from SBAC. Underlying the whole days will be connecting these instructional pieces to the SLO process and understanding how to make that process work in your mathematics instruction.

Cost: $50 for STEM Network members, others $75
