This workshop is intended for educators who hold a Professional Teachers license in Wisconsin and who seek to mentor Initial Educators. This training will fulfill the DPI requirement for being a trained mentor. Attendees will receive an overview of the mentoring process and explore the variety of ways that mentors support Initial Educators in the first years of teaching.

Workshop Components
•Overview of PI 34
•Explore roles of the mentor
•Understand the needs of beginning educators
•Review effective communication skills
•Explore mentoring as observation and coaching
•Understand collaborative relationship dynamics - confidentiality in the relationship
•Development of goals for the working relationship of mentor and Initial Educator
•Support the Initial Educator through the PDP process

Cost: $50.00 per person for Curriculum Instruction and Assessment School Districts. $100.00 for all other participants

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS: Due to varied dietary restrictions, CESA 8 cannot guarantee that all special dietary accommodations can be met.
