Examining Current Practices in Grading, Homework, and Assessment X

 

A wide body of research connects grading, homework and assessment to student achievement. This series invites school teams of educators to examine their current practices and compare them to the research.

 

Through four face-to-face meetings, an online discussion forum, book studies and networking with schools that have already gone through the process, participants will begin the work of rethinking practices, rewriting policies and revamping classroom routines related to grading, assessment and homework.

Suggested team: principals, administrators, guidance counselors, teachers and other stakeholders.

Space is limited to 6 school teams, first come, first serve.  Prior to registering, please contact Rachael Bergstrom (rbergstrom@cesa3.k12.wi.us) to secure a space for your team. 

Meeting Dates: 11/21/13, 1/30/14, 3/27/14, and 4/28/14

 

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot. Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated. CESA #3 is handicapped accessible.
