#904 Adolescent Literacy Grant Informational Meeting

CESA 5 has been awarded an "Improving Teacher Quality" grant from the UWSystem. This project will focus on ADOLESCENT LITERACY, and it begins this summer. It will provide FREE training for three of your 6-12 staff for a year, and potentially up to three years if the project is refunded. We are partnering with UW Stevens Point to provide high quality training from nationally known speakers in literacy. The focus in year one will be Comprehension, and presenters include Doug Buehl and Jeff Wilhelm.

There will be an informational meeting on Friday, March 26 at CESA 5 beginning at 12:30 PM. We are asking that interested principals, C&I or other decision-makers attend, find out all the details, and share with teachers back in your districts. There is room for 70 teacher participants, with Title I Consortium member districts getting first chance. After APRIL 30, the opportunity opens to all CESA 5 districts until the project is full.

You do not have to register for the meeting, but if your district wishes to participate in the project, it is very important that someone from your district attend to find out the components of the project and the requirements for participation. Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
