Leveled Literacy Intervention is a research-based intervention for grades K-3 developed by Fountas and Pinnell. LLI is an accelerated reading program with the intent to bring struggling readers to grade level. Each session will provide vital information in the teaching of reading and writing for struggling students based on best practice research. Participants must have materials prior to start date.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Learn how to do a miscue analysis in a running record and use this information to guide instruction.
2. Utilize the Continuum of Literacy Learning to identify objectives for students by grade level.
3. Understand the value of specific prompting and how this can move students to the next level of understanding.
4. Identify the different stages of writing and instructional strategies to use at each stage.
5. Evaluate data to determine success of students.

Meeting dates will be Sept. 9, Oct. 1, Nov. 7, 2013 and Jan. 22, 2014.

Data will be due to Paula on May 30, 2014.

Participants must attend all 4 sessions.
