Implementing the Next Generation Science Standards (6-12) Canceled

During this 2-day workshop, we will review the three dimensions of the new science standards and work in small groups to align a curricular unit to the new standards. In the first day, participants will explore the standards with hands-on science activities that integrate the three dimensions put forth in the NGSS. Then, working in content-area teams, we will look at lesson planning in an NGSS context, starting with learning objectives and performance assessments. In the second day of the workshop, we will use the standards documents to align specific student tasks and design appropriate formative assessments for the unit. There will also be time for school-based teams to examine standards progressions specific to their course offerings.  1 credit option

 

 

Cancellation Policy: Should enrollment be insufficient to cover the cost of the event, registered participants will be notified. Participants must cancel within 48 hours of this event or will be billed.

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
