Are you getting the most from your MAP data? This year's CESA 5 Summer MAP Institute provides multiple opportunities to explore data options for all grade levels K-12. Revolving around the theme of Rigor, Readiness and Rewards, the day is sure to spark new ideas and expand your thinking. Our keynoter, Dr. Barbara Blackburn, will start the day with "Rigor is NOT a Four-letter Word." Your sectional options include topics on Increasing Motivation, Comprehensive School Reform, Primary MAP, Math, Badgerlink, and MAP at the HS level.

About Dr. Blackburn: Barbara R. Blackburn has taught early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students and has served as an educational consultant for three publishing companies. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In 2006, she received the award for Outstanding Junior Professor at Winthrop University. She is now on the faculty at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate classes and collaborates with area schools.

Blackburn is the author of seven books, including Classroom Motivation from A to Z, Classroom Instruction from A to Z, and Literacy from A to Z. Her newest book, Rigor is NOT a Four Letter Word shows teachers how they can raise the level of rigor in their classrooms and provide challenging learning experiences for their students. She is currently writing The Principalship from A to Z with Dr. Ron Williamson, Eastern Michigan University.
