This workshop will showcase one of many available Engineering is Elementary units, The Best of Bugs: Designing Hand Pollinators: Insects, Plants, & Agricultural Engineering- Mariana Becomes a Butterfly, an Agricultural Engineering Story.  EiE units are paired with science topics commonly taught in elementary school.  Each unit is designed to be taught in conjunctiion with, or soon after, the science topic is taught.  Units focus on science and a field of engineering (mechanical or environmental) as well as one country and culture from around the world.  Each unit provides advanced information and lessons to help the teacher meet the needs of all students in the classroom.  While closely integrated with science concepts, the units stand alone, are not sequential, and can be used in any order.
