Objectives

The school PBIS Team, including administrator and coaches, participate in these 2 training days which consists of intense, interactive activity-based preparation for implementation of school-wide PBIS. These are guided team work days to begin developing the materials needed for PBIS Kick-Off and implementation.

Understand the essential components of school-wide positive support systems that provide behavior supports to all students.

  • Review discipline data (Big Five graphs) and begin the process of data-based decision-making to meet student needs
  • Review the impact of student behavior on academic outcomes
  • Discuss and plan school-wide practices and procedures that encourage students to engage in positive behavior and discourage problem behavior
  • Identify 3-5 school-wide behavioral expectations/rules
  • Begin to develop definitions of school-wide behavioral expectations by location (matrix)
  • Begin process of turning new behavioral expectations/rules into teachable lesson plans

Target Audience

Building level Universal team that includes: Building administrator, external and internal coaches, regular education teachers that represent grade levels, special education teacher, social worker and/or psychologist, specials teacher, paraprofessional and family members.

Workshop presenters: Kent Smith, PBIS Regional Technical Assistance Coordinators. 

Registration fees:

  • $1600 for a school-based team of 6-8 individuals.  This fee includes Days 1, 2, and 3, and Coaches Training; plus flash drives will be provided for each participant

Note: Additional team members may attend for $100 per person for all trainings, meals and facilities.

Special Education
Participation and Performance on statewide assess.for students with disabilities
Suspension/Expulsion Ratesdiscrepancy between the rate of students with disabilities being suspended or expelled from school more than 10 days
Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
