There is a connection between classroom teaching and learning strategies and what occurs on a daily basis within the business and industry (B&I) work environments. Required skills of employees are increasing. In addition to higher level of employability skills, employees need higher levels of technical skills. Participants in this learning opportunity will work with B&I partners to raise awareness of 21st Century Skills and current B&I standards in order to better prepare students for challenging and necessary post-secondary training and rewarding careers.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Examine current practices within a business setting.

2. Analyze connections between academic standards and B&I standards.

3. Describe employment-hiring trends with regard to employer expectations.

 

CREDIT INFORMATION

The Educator Externship course has been approved by UW-Eau Claire for 2 graduate-level credits (course number ES 695.602). We are requiring a minimum of 10 registrants to this professional development opportunity in order to acquire the credits. 

There is no minimum number needed to register to take this course with no graduate credit.
