Registration is free to Title III Consortium Members: Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan, Black River Falls, Blair-Taylor, Cashton, De Soto, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, Independence, La Farge, Melrose-Mindoro, Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton, Sparta, Tomah, Westby, West Salem, Whitehall. $30 per individual for non-member districts. Pre-registration is required.
Who should attend: K-12 teachers with ELLs, RtI teams, literacy leaders, ELL teachers
Goals:
• Explore academic language, the contexts of language use in school, and the connection to WIDA English Language Development Standards
• Discuss ways in which the ELD Standards can inform classroom instruction and collaboration
• Identify ways to support ELLs’ academic language development and engagement in school
Questions to be answered:
• How does our view of language impact how we organize instruction for ELLs?
• How can teachers actively support ELLs’ academic language development?
• How can the ELD Standards framework be a resource in differentiating and scaffolding instruction for language learners?
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
