Exploring the Next Generaiton Science Standards

Through a collaborative, state-led process managed by Achieve, the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) have been developed. These standards are rich in content and practice, arranged in a coherent manner across disciplines and grades to provide all students an internationally benchmarked science education. The NGSS are based on the Framework for K–12 Science Education developed by the National Research Council. Come and spend a day exploring these standards!

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants will become familiar with the expectations on the Next Generation Science Standards.
  2. Participants will begin to explore needed changes in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  3. Participants will network with colleagues in other districts.
