Day # 1 - Nell Duke
Developing Knowledge of Words and the World: Emergent Literacy and Teaching Content in Early Childhood Education

June 25 Evening presentation - Mary Bigler:  Songs, Rhymes and Story Times:  Improving Listenign and Speaking Skills (Included with registration fee)
Description:  Songs, chants, poems, stories, and books that will enhance the listening and speaking abilities of your early childhood students will be featured in this interactive workshop.  Activities that build imagination, classroom community, phonemic awareness, phonics, word recognition, vocabulary, comprehension and fluency will be presented.  Come prepared to chant, speak, choral read, listen, sing, laugh, learn and have fun.    
About Mary Bigler:  Her workshops on literacy issues are practical, informative, researched-based and entertaining. She shares a multitude of ideas on how to help students of all abilities to become better readers and writers. In addition, she presents strategies on how to help students become efficient, independent, life-long learners. She motivates teachers to a renewed commitment to teaching, students and learning.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
