Video modeling is a method of teaching in which students learn by watching a video demonstrating the target skill. Video modeling has been proven to help with communication, disruptive behavior, increase on-task behavior, and teach complex social sequences. Today’s technological environment makes increased use of video modeling much easier and more affordable than it was in the not too distant past. In this workshop, you will learn the reasons videos are effective and how to customize them to meet the students’ needs. Each participant is asked to bring a flip camera and a laptop. Time will be allotted to practice making videos for individual students.

Presenters: Rebecca Kowalczyk, CESA 10 and Jan Vajgrt, CESA 10
