SNAP is a two-day professional development course that provides participants with a concise, diagnostic, individual assessment. SNAP is appropriate for all educators working with children who are functioning within the range of early numeracy concepts that are typically associated with kindergarten and first grade. The SNAP interview-style assessment results in data that indicate a child’s development along six progressions. These data are invaluable in planning instruction that differentiates for a range of student development on each progression. SNAP may also be used to identify children in need of more thorough diagnostic assessment and intervention (such as that provided by the Math Recovery Intervention Specialist program). The classroom summary profile folder provides clear direction for designing lessons that will ensure progress for each child.
