 This workshop is for paraprofessionals working with Title I and Special Education students. Participants can choose one of the three sections to attend.

Section A: Technology Strand
Session I—(12:45—2:00 PM) Introduction to using an I-Pad with Kaye Lietz and Deb Wall. Learn the basic skills of using an I-Pad, and how to implement with students. Kaye and Deb will demonstrate apps and a few other “fun” items with an I-Pad.
Session II—(2:15—4:15 PM) Little of everything in education! We will review the seclusion and restraint law, and best practices for dealing with behavior. Also, discuss what the new “topics” in education are.

Section B: Autism Strand
Session I—(12:45—2:00 PM) CESA 8’s autism consultation team of Dawn Mannebach and Amber Cooper will be sharing their knowledge on Autism. This section will be going over basic and important background information to lead into the next section.
Session II—(2:15—4:15 PM) Dawn and Amber will continue with best practice strategies to use with children on the autism spectrum. This section will focus on behavior and evidence based strategies.

Section C: Reading Strategies Strand
Session I—(12:45—2:00 PM) This session will focus on using instructional strategies to use before, during, and after reading. The focus will be to implement these skills to assist in teaching reading and promote error correction.
Session II—(2:15—4:15 PM) This session will continue with developing instructional strategies to use with students.

Cost:         $30.00 per person for member districts: $50.00 per person for non-member districts

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs.
