PD21 - Bring Your Own Device/Network - Round-Table Discussion

The federal government is encouraging school district to move from paper to digital textbooks within the next 5 years.  In order to prepare for that school districts need to ensure they have the required technology and policies in place.  There are several issues related to this that we hope to dicuss including Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Bring Your Own Network (BYON). We have invited a couple of administrators to share with us their experiences with having students bring their own devices to school.

This will be a discussion moderated by Tara Beau.  The purpose of the discussion is to find the questions that need to be answered in order to move towards a paperless environment.  Hopefully we will find a variety of solutions to these questions.

Participants are encouraged to listen to the one hour Webinar on moving from print to digital textbooks from Aug. 21, 2012 that can be found at https://sites.google.com/a/cesa3.k12.wi.us/mobile/digital-content  Also on this site is a google doc on this site that anyone can edit that we will use during the discussion.  If you have a question, comment or link to a policy, please feel free to add it to this document. 

  Cancellation Policy: Should enrollment be insufficient to cover the cost of the event, registered participants will be notified.

Participants must cancel within 48 hours of this event.

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot. Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated. CESA #3 is handicapped accessible.
