CESA #3 Speech and Language Networking Meeting

Location:  Southwest Wi Technical College - Room 493
Time:  12:00 - 5:00 p.m.

No Fee to Attend -- Lunch will be provided

The agenda will be as follows:

12:00 -1:00 p.m.  Working Lunch: Meet each other and form a cohesive support network

1:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Participate as a group in the PST Webinar offered by Sheryl Thormann, Education Consultant, Speech and Language Programs (DPI) 

4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Discuss key issues brought up during the Webinar and identify topics of interestand concern for future CESA3 networking meetings.

Highlights of this meeting include a DPI legal update addressing screening and RtI. We will discuss current speech and language practice issues in the public schools including the use of telespeech as a method of service delivery and the recent increase in the use of paraprofessionals in speech and language programs. An overview of Agenda 2017, the comprehensive plan for education reform, will be provided to highlight several important education initiatives and the timeline for implementation of those initiatives. Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot. Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated. CESA #3 is handicapped accessible.
