Purpose:  Family involvement is key to planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating high quality educational programs.  This introductory training will help participants increase their awareness of how effective partnership practices can improve student achievement and behavior.  Joyce Epstein's Six Components of Successful Family, School, and Community serve as the foundation of the training.  Participants complete a "quality indicators" checklist for their school and brainstorm specific ideas and projects to promote effective family and community involvement.

Presenters:  Kathy Laffin and Brenda Yager

Prerequisites:  No special background needed.  This training is open to all Wisconsin school communities.

Audience:  Educators and family members committed to developing and maintaining strong school-family-community partnerships.  School and district leadership teams are encouraged to attend.

Timeline:  8-8:30 AM - Rolls & Networking; 8:30 AM - Training Begins

This workshop is FREE!!  Lunch is provided.  Limited seating.

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
