Content: Participants will revisit essential school-wide systems (data, teaching, acknowledgement, and interventions) and use the Team Implementation Checklist to self-assess current implementation and action plan around identified needs. In addition, participants will look at the Benchmarks of Quality to begin to understand the use of the tool in self-evaluation. Teams will have an opportunity to share and celebrate their success. Networking opportunities with other teams provides additinal problem solving opportunities.
Who should participate: Building level Universal teams that have attended Tier I Universal Team Training Part 1 & 2. A team might include the following: Building administrator, external and internal coaches, regular education teachers that represent grade levels, special education teacher, social worker and/or psychologist, specials teacher, paraprofessional, and family members.
Objectives: 1. Review progress made with Tier 1/Universal PBIS processes by reviewing the PBIS Team implementation Checklist and udpate action plan on School-Based Unified Action Plan for each component. 2. Plan condinued implementation of Tier 1 and access readiness for Tier II implementation. 3. Plan for increased stakeholder buy-in, implementation, and sustainability of Tiers I & II. 4. Receive technical assistance from PBIS Network in continuing development and planning for Tiers I & II.
Workshop presenters: Karen Lietzow, CESA 5 RSN Project Director, will facilitate the trainings, under the direction of Marla Dewhirst, Assistant Director, Illinois PBIS Network. The advantage of participating in the CESA 5 sponsored trainings is sharing of expenses and thereby reduced costs.
Registration fee: $700/team inclusive (6 members/building; $100/each for additional attendees) (breakfast, lunch, snacks, beverages included)
School-wide PBIS is a research-based systems approach for establishing the social culture and behavioral supports needed for schools to be effective learning environments for all students.
