Content (Part 1): Participants will learn the systems, data and practices imbedded in PBIS implementation. The team will draft School-wide Behavioral Expectations, create a Behavioral Matrix, and plan for team development.
Content (Part 2): Participants will be developing an acknowledgement plan, developing a chart of office-managed versus classroom-managed behaviors, establishing procedures for a continuum of interventions, evaluating the efficiency of “working smarter” among school teams, and creating a system for effective meetings.
Who should participate: Building level Universal team that includes the following: Building administrator, external and internal coaches, regular education teachers that represent grade levels, special education teacher, social worker and/or psychologist, specials teacher, paraprofessional, and family members.
Workshop presenters: Karen Lietzow, CESA 5 RSN Project Director, will facilitate the trainings, under the direction of Marla Dewhirst, Assistant Director, Illinois PBIS Network. The advantage of participating in the CESA 5 sponsored trainings is sharing of expenses and thereby reduced costs.
School-wide PBIS is a research-based systems approach for establishing the social culture and behavioral supports needed for schools to be effective learning environments for all students.
Registration fees:
- $700 for a school-based team of 6 individuals or less for the two day training, plus
- $25 per person for the manual plus
- $50 per person for meals and facility charges.
Note: Additional team members may attend the 2 day training for $25 per person for the manual and $100 per person for the training, meals and facilities.
A block of rooms is available at the Chula Vista Resort at the state rate of $70/single and $92/double for the nights of Feb. 14th and 15th. Mention CESA 5 PBIS training. State rates apply until Jan. 15th.
