The Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) are derived from research in the domains of early learning and development and apply to all settings in which children receive care and education. These early learning standards are intended to align to Wisconsin’s K-12 Model Academic Standards and to provide early learning opportunities that support children’s success across environments and in the future.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:
• Share a common language for working with children & families from birth to 1st grade
• Explore developmentally appropriate practices
• Infuse ecological thinking and reflective practices into your professional practice
• Refine knowledge, skills and dispositions for ongoing assessment in the teaching cycle
• Collaborate with others for the best interest of children and families
• Meet DPI Teacher License Standards 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 & 10
Audience: ECSE, 4K, Administrators, Teaching Asst, Head Start, Child Care providers & Parents
Location: Comfort Suites – Portage (N5780 Kinney Rd., Hwy 78)
Cost: $25 for WMELS manual, training materials, continental breakfast & lunch
