Luke Francois, Agency Administrator for Mineral Point Schools, has arranged for Anthony Muhammad to present in Mineral Point on Wednesday, August 29th at 9am.  Anthony is annually one of the keynote speakers at the PLC Conference with the DuFour's in Lincolnshire IL.   (Please see biography below.)  Luke has seen his presentation and is most impressed in his work in the area of PLC's , improving classroom management, increasing literacy, and creating a healthier school culture which will also be addressed. 
 
The Quality Inn will host this event and has a nice banquet room with capacity for 75 additional registrants. The Quality Inn is located at 1345 Business Park Rd in Mineral Point.  The opportunity to send teams at an individual rate of $120 per person is now available.

9:00 to 12:00 Building and Sustaining PLC's Anthony Muhammad (10 minute break will be offered half way through the session)
12:00 to 12:45 Lunch provided
12:45 to 3:45 Practical Application of the Concepts:  Building a PLC from a Ground Up (10 minute break will be offered half way through the session)
 
Biography
Anthony S. Muhammad, Ph.D.
Anthony Muhammad is one of the most sought after educational consultants in North America. As a practitioner of nearly twenty years, Dr. Muhammad has served as a middle school teacher, assistant principal, middle school principal, and high school principal. Dr. Muhammad’s tenure as a practitioner has earned him several awards as both a teacher and a principal. His most notable accomplishment came as principal at Levey Middle School in Southfield, Michigan, a National School of Excellence, where student proficiency on state assessments was more than doubled in five years and he was named the Michigan Middle School Principal of the Year in 2005. Dr. Muhammad and the staff at Levey used the Professional Learning Communities at Work (PLC) model of school improvement, and they have been recognized in several videos and articles as a model, high-performing PLC. As a researcher, he has published articles in several publications in both the United States and Canada. Dr. Muhammad is the author of the book Transforming School Culture: How to End Staff Division (2009) and a contributing author to the book The Collaborative Administrator: Working Together as a Professional Learning Community (2008).

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot. Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated. CESA #3 is handicapped accessible.
