PBIS Administrative Overview Half-Day
This overview is a prerequisite to beginning Universal/Tier 1 Training for school teams.

WHEN: Tuesday, August 7, 2012; 8:30 am-12:00 pm (Registration at 8:00 am)

WHERE: CESA #4 Office, 923 East Garland Street, West Salem, WI 54669

AUDIENCE: District Leadership Teams of 6-8 members may include: District and Building Administrators, Board of Education Members, Potential PBIS Coaches, School Psychologists, Counselors, and Teacher Leaders.

PRESENTER: Kent Smith, MSSW, CISW, CSSW, Technical Assistance Coordinator (Tier I and II) Wisconsin PBIS Network

DESCRIPTION: This half-day overview is for District Leadership Teams interested in the necessary commitments for implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The Overview will include a description of the rationale for implementation, the PBIS framework, and explanation of the step-by-step implementation of all 3 Tiers of PBIS, and the steps for getting PBIS started in a district. PBIS is a proactive systems
approach for creating and maintaining safe and effective learning environments in schools by ensuring all students have the social-emotional skills needed for success in school and beyond.

REGISTRATION: Cost for the Admnistrative Overview is $25/person.   

FUTURE TRAININGS:  Tier I PBIS trainings  - Sept. 13 Coaching and Administration, Sept. 20-21 Universal Training Day 1 and 2 and Implementing PBIS in Your School— Date TBA).- $2200 per Building Team for first 2 teams from a School District (Limit of 6-8 per Building Team); $2000 per additional team; (Limit of 6-8 per Building Team) Additional fee applies if sending more than 8 per building team.

Pupil Services

WPS3The pupil services professional has the ability to use research, research methods and knowledge about issues and trends to improve practice in schools and classrooms.
WPS6The pupil services professional is able to address comprehensively the wide range of social, emotional, behavioral and physical issues and circumstances which may limit pupils’ abilities to achieve positive learning outcomes through development, implementation and evaluation of system-wide interventions and strategies.

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.


Dietary Restrictions: Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.


Weather Conditions: If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.


Additional Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
