Strategies That Engage Minds! What are the characteristics of highly engaging classrooms? What does research tell us about practical strategies to inform curriculum, instruction, and assessment that engages students in thinking? Creating? Learning? This two-day workshop will focus on strategies to engage learners in a manner that improves learning of important content knowledge and develops critical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as all other disciplines.
Presenter: Tony Frontier
Tony Frontier, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Doctoral Leadership Studies at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he teaches courses in curriculum development, learning theory, research methods, and statistics. He has been recognized by Marquette University as the Outstanding Young Alumnus for the School of Education for his work integrating the arts and academics as a teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools and is the recipient of the Jack Keane Outstanding Young Educator Award for the State of Wisconsin. He is co-author of the recently published book, "Effective Supervision: Supporting the Art and Science of Teaching."

Course Assessment Requirements:
- Attend all required days.
- Write a reflection page after each day's activities.
- Complete and share a lesson plan incorporating the strategies learned.
