Presenter: Julie LaBerge, School Psychologist/Director of Pupil Services; Parent, Model Site Director for the National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorders Project
Day 4: Evidence-Based Practices (Peer Supports) and Assistive Technology Tools for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders – The emphasis on this day will be use of Peer Supports to support the socialization and academic learning of students with autism spectrum disorders. Current research related to Peer Supports will be shared along with practical implementation examples from the Bonduel School District’s involvement in the National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorders project. Guests from other districts implementing Peer Support programs may be available as well. Assistive Technology for students with autism will be discussed and shared. From iPads, iPods, Kindles, laptop computers, to Smart Pens, come learn about the many ways that technology can be used effectively for students with autism.
Fee: $60.00 per person for members
$100.00 per person for non-members
Lunch is included. A $50.00 discount will be given to those who register for all four days of the Summer Symposium on Autism.
